TIFI AND THE
DEER PARK TIGERS HAVE SUFFERED A LOSS
On Friday,
January 1st, Nikolas Jaime, 12 years old
tragically lost his life. Nikolas and
a friend were walking to a skate rink
when he
crossed the street to go to a convenience
store. On his way back, he ran out in
front of a car where he was
struck and
suffered a severe head injury. He was
life flighted to Hermann Hospital and after
30 hours of being on life support
with no
improvement he was declared legally brain
dead. His mother and two older
brothers made the difficult decision to
donate
Nikolas's organs. The only positive
outcome in this story is that Nikolas has
saved the lives of numerous other
children who
would not be with us today.
Nikolas
joined the Deer Park Tigers for the 2009
season as a Senior. Although he was
only a Tiger for one season, he made
a lasting
impression on his team mates, coaches, and
fans. He was an awesome athlete and a
great addition to their team.
He made quick
friends with the boys who will always love
him and never forget him as a friend and
team mate. There are
no words to
express the loss that the team is feeling
with the passing of Nikolas. He must
have been a wonderful child
for the good
Lord to want him home so early.
A candlelight
vigil will be held for Nikolas on Thursday,
January 7th at 6:00 at Fairmont Junior High
in Deer Park. Please
bring your
own candle.
The family
will receive visitors from 4pm to 7pm on
Friday, January 8th at Memorial Baptist
Church, 6901 Fairmont Pkwy,
Pasadena, TX.
Nikolas would have been 13 year olds on
Saturday, January 9th. Instead of a
birthday party, there will be a
celebration
of his life at 10:00am at Memorial Baptist
Church, 6901 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, TX on
this day.
Nikolas'
mother is a single mom who does not have the
financial ability to pay for his funeral and
all other medical costs
associated
with this horrible accident. His team
is asking for everyone's help to donate
money for Nikolas to be used
for his
burial. An account has been set up at
Chase Bank in the name of Nikolas Jaime.
TIFI knows that we can count on his
team, his
club, all of TIFI, and our community to make
the tragic death of a son a little easier
for the mother.
Please keep
the Jaime family and the Deer Park Tigers in
your prayers.
